Research and teaching

Gender is a topic and field of enquiry for research in many different disciplines worldwide. Attention to gender frequently makes trans-disciplinary cooperation necessary. The GenderCompetenceCenter, as an institution within the Centre for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies (ZtG), was part of these research endeavours.

The GenderCompetenceCenter was taking part in the scholarly debate on the strategy of Gender Mainstreaming. It reflected on and publishes for scholars – adhering strictly to the requirements of data protection and the principle of anonymising – specific experiences with the implementation of GM. The academic team teached on the Gender Studies programme at the HU in Berlin and prepares students for practical experience in the field of Gender Mainstreaming.
